BoneWalker Entierro's third ep is a BLAST! Connecticut's heavy quartet has clearly chosen a much more NW0BHM sound for this release and the band seems more bounded than ever! Four tracks and a Judas Priest cover that really blow any riff-worshipper's mind off! Enjoy with the volume really turned up! Favorite track: El Camazotz.

Dementicus When Victor Arduini is at the helm, I pay attention. Nice old-style heavy metal with driving doom riffs and classy leads. Good stuff!

The Penance 05:20
So set, in all your ways, Never making, mistakes. Headstrong, worth all the wait. Not strong, not today Hu-ah! There’s a knock upon the door, Unwanted visitors in store A reckoning before the fall, The phone has rung, pick up the call This is your penance, the price that you pay, When all that you love, is taken away, This is the life that you've made for yourself, Ignoring the sign posts, unmaking yourself. The acrid smell of lies ensue, I got no patience left for you. All thats left of you is dust, If you can leave i think you must, There’s no one left for you to trust.

There's a secret that you hide, a silence deep inside, A truth you can’t define. The thoughts poison your mind, you run from your own kind, No one is on your side. Your memory selects the time, it sets and it defines, It justifies the crimes, So innocent that its divine, excuses are just fine, you’re wasting your own time. Exploit the simple mind, excuses are just fine, The reasons left behind. The years have taken all your power, The minutes turn to hours, You got no where to go. The years have taken all your power, The minute turn to hours, You can’t escape the tower. So innocent that its divine, your wasting your own time, The reasons left behind. There's a secret that you hide, a silence deep inside, A truth you cant define.

The Past 04:56 video
In my darkest hour, your face appears. My life is different now, Yet still you’re here. An apparition it cannot be, This presence that i can see, Its not a time for honesty. Don't wanna feel no more, recollection is such a chore. I gotta leave before the dawn. My ghosts are chasing me, close my eyes so I can't see, I gotta get over me. Its a, mo-ment locked in time, Its an ever present sign, ghosts from the past, they will revisit you, There's nothing you can do. A touch of apathy, about things that used to be, I cant control the memories, Time fog is creeping in, a past thats full of sin, That's the best that i can give. Its a, mo-ment locked in time, Its an ever present sign, ghosts from the past, they will revisit you, There's nothing you can do, You can do. Its a moment locked in time, An ever present sign, Its a moment locked in time, An ever present sign, ghosts from the past, they will revisit you, There's nothing you can do. You can do! You can do! You can do, yeah yeah

El Camazotz 05:22
Sun sets over, the jungle canopy, Hunters have not returned, its clear to see. Zotzilaha, a place beyond the grave, The camazotz awakes inside the portal cave. Cuidado con la bestia (beware the beast) The tribe assembles, the warriors unite, The torches set ablaze provide the only light, With silent voice we creep, across the jungle floor, Our legion will defeat the evil demon hordes El camazotz, Déjame ser, (leave me be) Curse your kind all back to hell! El camazotz, Déjame ser (leave me be) Curse your kind all back to hell! El camazotz tomara tu alma! (The camazotz will take your soul) El camazotz tomara tu cabeza! (The camazotz will take your head) El camazotz! The body of a man, dark, cold and grey, You can’t escape his grasp, you cannot get away. The lord of death and night, he doesn’t need to see, His trophy is your head, a bat faced deity.

Well, the pressure's too much, you know I peaked last night I gotta get some a quick release City is standing on my shoulders My body's going piece by piece, yeah Well I know what I want and I know where to get it And I'm going there right away This is one priest that I don't have to fall on Down to my knees and pray, no When your back's to the wall come along one and all We shall fight all the slander that's penned It's us we shall choose let the bigoted lose For our triumph's the means to their end Let the cynics drop dead in their critical head They're wrist merchants as we all can see Bunch of deaf ears with their columnized fears What a shame, what a shame, oh dear me, oh When your back's to the wall, come along one and all We shall fight all the slander that's penned It's us we shall choose let the bigoted lose For our triumph's the means to their end Yes I know what I want and I know where to get it And I'm going there right away This is one priest that I don't have to fall on Down to my knees and pray, no

about

Connecticut’s Entierro released their long awaited follow-up to their 2018 Self-titled full length on June 18th, 2021. Entitled El Camazotz, after the Mayan bat god associated with night, death and sacrifice, the five song EP represents a new chapter in the story of the band. Recorded just prior to the pandemic at Studio Wormwood in Northeastern Connecticut under the engineering mastery of Dave Kaminsky, the songs harken back to the NWOBHM and traditional heavy metal bands that they grew up listening to. This also marks the first truly collaborative effort with former Fates Warning guitarist Victor Arduini, who had joined the band just prior to the recording of their 2018 full length. On this release, he was an integral part of the writing process working alongside vocalist/bassist Christopher Beaudette (Jasta, NightBitch,) drummer Dave Parmelee (One Master) and second guitarist Christopher Begnal making it a much more definitive presentation of their creative vision. Together, Entierro is solidifying their ability to create songs that manifest the crushing sound that they hope metalheads can continually find inspiration in.

"Groovy and chunky riffs intersect nicely with dual-lead heavy metal, and catchy arrangement. All around, it recalls the earliest Fates Warning material slapped against Trouble's stoner era, and does it with a certain skill and grace that speaks of the long experience of the members."
- Invisible Oranges

"This band hits hard and fast. Well done!" (5/5)
- Metal Epidemic

"Entierro clearly put thought into its construction, and in following 2018’s self-titled full-length, the band’s wholehearted embrace of their roots filters smoothly through their own craft methodology and only suits them."
- The Obelisk

"The majority of the material is located in the neat, powerfully executed mid-tempo. Victor and his colleague Chris Begnal also always know how to provide variety with two-part guitar passages and make no secret of corresponding sources of inspiration such as Murray / Smith or Tipton / Downing."
